Background
Company X with 3 directors (all married and in their 40s) each earning £0.5m. The number of employees in the firm had recently increased from 50 to 100 and there were plans to significantly increase this in the next two years.
The company had taken out a bank loan of £1.5m to fund the expansion of the business.

We put in place a comprehensive plan specifically tailored to the company's need. The plan included:
Life Assurance
We set up life insurance schemes for all 3 directors for £0.5million each to cover bank borrowing.
Shareholder Protection
A shareholder protection plan with a value of £1m per director was established to be payable into a trust to allow the remaining directors to purchase shares from the estate of the deceased.
Company Continuation Cover
We put in place £0.5million of Key Man Cover on each director payable to the company to compensate any drop in profits following the death of a key director.
Employee Benefits Package
We implemented a full flexible employee benefits package with bespoke packages for different employees, including medical insurance, death in service, a group personal pension scheme and a manager scheme.
